Larger Projects

We are proud of all our products and services but every now and then a special major project comes along that is particularly satisfying.

Gardeners World at the NEC

When Solihull Council's environment team decided to stage an exhibition at the BBC Gardeners World event at the NEC, they came to Waterloo for help. The theme was biodiversity and this was expressed through a design based on the Lewis Carroll story Alice in Wonderland. Trish Willetts, Solihull Council's Environmental Champion needed a tunnel into Wonderland. We designed and built exactly what was needed with the help of local school children who did the painting. Hundreds of leaves, animals, toadstools, insects and details were cut out, sanded, painted and fixed to the tunnel to create the fantastic effect you see here.

Welcome Garden

Welcome, a charity in Solihull which helps people recover from alcohol and drug addiction, wanted a garden that its clients good enjoy and relax in. As Joanne MacKinnon from Welcome said: “The raised beds and benches they recently installed for us have allowed disabled residents to enjoy the garden for the first time in years. Waterloo has also installed garden fencing, a shed and built a pergola. I would recommend Waterloo to anyone.
