Life At Waterloo
There is a great atmosphere at Waterloo. Team work is an essential aspect of the training and experience that we provide to our learning disabled clients and so it's vital we create a working environment that promotes a team spirit. You will hear us singing, laughing, joking and generally having a good time. But we still get the job done. We just enjoy ourselves in the process.
Everyone at Waterloo is supplied with our smart work-wear and safety clothing and we drive to jobs in our brilliant Land Rover which was donated by the Employees at Land Rover in Solihull.
Watch Our Video
This video was made a few years ago by the Birmingham & Solihull Social Enterprise Consortium to promote Social Enterprises like Waterloo. It gives you some background to the enterprise and a feel for how we work.
Meet The Team
The Main Men, Our LD Clients
Without these guys, there would be no point in Waterloo. They do most of the work, make most of the tea, keep the rest of us in check.

Simon Cockerill, Manager
Simon is the man in charge which means he gets to drive the Land Rover but rarely makes the tea. Simon is passionate about ensuring the 'lads' learn new skills and get the opportunities for employment they deserve.
Stuart 'Paddy' Padget, Support Worker
Paddy designs most of the products we make and does the fiddly bits like mortice and tenon joints. Paddy likes to see the 'lads' busy on products they enjoy making and learning new skills
Peter Farr, Support Worker
Peter joined the team through the Future Jobs Fund and gets to do all the heavy work like digging holes and lifting big bits of wood. Peter loves being at Waterloo and working alongside the 'lads'
George Morris
George arrived as a volunteer to help with a bit of admin. George now works here and looks after the paperwork that Simon doesn't like doing. George won our hearts when he supported a couple of the 'lads' (Malcolm & Tony) on a 12 mile sponsored walk in aid of Solihull Together.
Charles Rapson & Martin Clarke
To help Waterloo find work, clients and expand there are a couple of people who live in the office upstairs. They are not allowed to touch the sharp things downstairs and need more supervision than the clients. They are Charles Rapson, Enterprise Manager (left) and Martin Clarke, Sales & Marketing Manager.
The other guy in the video is Dave Pinwell, CEO of the Colebridge Trust
